General guidance on prayer
Matthew 6:5-15
- Motivation : don’t pray in order to attract attention
- Eloquence : don’t worry how impressive your prayer sounds
- Focus : Pray for the day to come when God’s name is recognized as holy, God’s Kingdom comes on earth, God’s will is done on earth
- Provision : it’s OK to ask
- Forgiveness : Be quick to forgive others if you want to be forgiven by God
When praying for our personal needs
Matthew 6:25-34
- Lay down your anxieties
- Seek God’s Kingdom and trust Him for your needs
Praying for Israel
Genesis 12:1-3
- Those who bless Israel will be blessed
Isaiah 11:1-10
- God will send a deliverer who will be a descendant of David (Messiah)
Isaiah 52:13-53:6
- The Servant of the Lord will bear the sins of the people
Isaiah 62:1-7
- Pray for God’s purpose for Israel to be fulfilled
Matthew 23:37-39
- Pray for the leaders of Israel to cry out for Yeshua to come
